Terms of Service
1. Agreement
By buying from or using academyofdla.com (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. The Site is run by DLA Universal LLC d/b/a DLA Academy ("DLA Academy", "we", "us"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2. What we sell
- ELDT theory courses (Hazmat, CDL Class A, CDL Class B, Passenger and School Bus), completed online.
- DMV test-prep products, which are study aids.
- Bundles of the above at the bundle price shown at checkout.
- Instant Submission, an optional add-on charged once per order. Standard filing is within 24 hours of completion; with Instant Submission it is within minutes of you confirming your details.
- Fleet, school and reseller seats for organizations, at the seat prices on our Fleet Accounts page. Instant Submission is included in seat prices.
Prices are shown in US dollars at checkout and can change. The price you see when you pay is the price you pay.
3. Who can enroll
You must complete the course yourself, using your own details. You may not share your login or let someone else take the course or test for you. You confirm that you meet your state’s age requirement for the license or endorsement the course is for.
4. Your information must be accurate
We ask for your name, date of birth, license number and license state because they go on your training completion record. Enter them exactly as they appear on your license. You will see them again after you pass and must confirm they are correct. After you confirm, the record is submitted and locked. If something is wrong after that, email us right away at support@academyofdla.com; we will try to help but we cannot promise a correction after a record has been filed.
5. Filing your completion record
When you finish and confirm, we submit your completion record to the FMCSA Training Provider Registry within 24 hours, or within minutes of you confirming your details if you bought Instant Submission. These are our targets after your confirmation; delays outside our control (for example a registry outage) are not a breach.
We're sorry, we don't serve Washington. We'd be glad to help drivers in all of the other 49 states.
6. What we do not promise
We provide training and a filing service. We do not decide whether you qualify for a license or endorsement, and we do not control the TSA background check, fingerprinting, DMV tests, fees or any decision by a state agency. We do not guarantee that you will pass any test or be issued any license.
7. Access to your course
Your course is for your own personal use. After your completion record is filed, you can still sign in to see your record and certificate, but the course content closes 24 hours after filing.
8. Payment and refunds
Payments are processed by Stripe. You authorize us to charge the payment method you provide. All sales are final. Because our products are digital and available to you as soon as you buy, we do not give refunds. This includes the Instant Submission add-on. If something is wrong with your order or your record, email us at support@academyofdla.com first and we will work with you to fix it. If you dispute a charge with your bank, we may give the bank the course, login and completion records that show you received the product.
9. Acceptable use
Do not: share accounts, use bots or scripts, copy, resell or redistribute course or test-prep content (except where you have a written reseller agreement with us), attempt to break or probe the Site, or give us information that is false or belongs to someone else. We may suspend access for breaking these Terms.
10. Our content
The Site, courses, questions and materials are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own training while your access lasts.
11. Fleet, school and reseller accounts
Organizations that buy seats are responsible for who they enroll and for supplying accurate student details. Seats are for the people named in the account. Seat rules and reseller or partner terms are in your separate agreement with us.
12. Disclaimers and limits
The Site and courses are provided "as is" to the fullest extent the law allows. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to the Site or a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for that purchase, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
13. Text messages
If you give a mobile number and tick the text box at checkout, DLA Academy will text you about that order: up to 2 reminders if you don't finish checking out, and a text when your completion is filed. If you tick the box when it says so, we may also send one text a few days after your completion is filed asking you to review us. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, START to resume, or HELP for help, or email support@academyofdla.com. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Texting is optional and is not a condition of any purchase. See section 12 of our Privacy Policy.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms. The version in force when you buy applies to that purchase. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
